Orihai is open content, apart from three categories that managed AI will not write.

This policy applies to managed AI, and to nothing else.

Running Orihai with your own provider key or with a model on your own machine is governed by that provider's terms and by the law that applies where you are. Neither sends anything to an Orihai server, and Orihai does not moderate either.

The block set contains three categories. They apply to every managed request, in every mode, and no setting unlocks them.

• Sexual content involving minors. There is no exemption for fiction.
• Sexual content depicting identifiable real people.
• Content that is illegal to produce or distribute, whether or not it is fiction.

Every character in a sexual context must be an adult. Cues of age, appearance and setting that suggest otherwise cause the check to fail, and an ambiguous case is refused.

This check is applied to imported character cards as well as to what you type. An age asserted in a card is read in the same way as an age written in a typed line.

Adult content between adults is not a blocked category, and neither is violence, dark subject matter or distress. Fictional non-consent between adults is a recognised trope and is written.

Adult content is not the purpose of Orihai. Nothing in the default experience is oriented around it, and whether a story arrives there depends on the story.

A scenario is locked by default. In a locked scenario, managed AI is asked to keep the writing non-explicit.

To unlock a scenario, you must affirm on your account that you are 18 or over. In an unlocked scenario, the block set is the only filter that applies.

The affirmation is held on the account. The unlock is a setting on one scenario, and it cannot grant more than the account already permits.

The generation stops and names the rule that fired. Orihai records which rule it was, against the generation and against the account. The text is not recorded.

The model behind managed AI applies its own content filtering, which is in places narrower than this policy. It can refuse to write, or stop writing, content that the block set permits.

That is a failed generation rather than a rule of this policy. Running Orihai with your own provider key or with a local model does not involve this filtering.

The date at the top of this page is the date on which this policy took effect. It forms part of the terms, and a change to the block set will be announced to the email address on your account before it takes effect.
