Orihai
TERMS OF SERVICE IN EFFECT 27 AUGUST 2026

Orihai is free to use, is still in development, and is provided as it is.

These terms apply to the Orihai desktop application, to orihai.com and to the account area at account.orihai.com. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.

01What it is

Orihai is a desktop application for long interactive fiction. It can be run in three ways: with your own provider key, with a model running on your own machine, or with managed AI.

Orihai is in development. Features may change, may stop working and may be removed. There is no release date.

02Your account

An account is identified by one email address. You sign in with a code sent to that address, so anyone who can read that mailbox can sign in as you.

Each account is for one person. Do not share your account, and do not create a second account in order to obtain a second allowance.

You can delete your account at any time at account.orihai.com/account. The privacy policy describes what deletion removes.

03Managed AI

Managed AI is optional. It is free while it is being tested, and its use is metered: each account has a monthly token allowance, a rate limit and a limit on concurrent requests, and a request that would exceed any of them is refused before it reaches the provider.

The allowance, the models used to provide managed AI and the service itself may change or be withdrawn at any time and without notice.

Managed AI uses one provider in one region, and there is no failover. If that provider is unavailable, the generation fails and the application reports the failure. Running Orihai with your own provider key or with a local model does not depend on this service.

There is no paid tier, and none is promised.

04Content

Managed AI is open content, subject to a block set of three categories it will not write. The content policy sets out that list and forms part of these terms.

Running Orihai with your own provider key or with a local model is governed by that provider's terms and by the law that applies where you are. Orihai does not moderate either, and neither sends anything to an Orihai server.

You keep the rights in your stories. Orihai claims no rights in what you write or in what is written back to you.

05Age

To hold an account, you must be old enough to agree to these terms in the place where you live. The minimum age in any case is [MINIMUM AGE — TO BE SET ON LEGAL REVIEW].

A scenario can be unlocked. To unlock one, you must affirm on your account that you are 18 or over. In an unlocked scenario, the block set is the only filter that applies. In a locked scenario, managed AI is also steered away from explicit content.

The affirmation has no other effect. Managed AI can be used without it, in steered mode, and the affirmation is not a condition of access.

06What is not promised

Orihai is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. There is no warranty of fitness for a purpose, of accuracy, or of availability.

There is no commitment to uptime and no commitment to support. Nothing a model produces is checked for truth.

Your stories are held in a file on your own disk, and backing that file up is your responsibility.

Liability: [LIMITATION OF LIABILITY — TO BE DRAFTED BY COUNSEL].

07Suspension

An account may be suspended or removed if it is used to work around the limits described in clause 03, to direct requests at the block set, or in any other way that puts the service or the cost of running it at risk.

08Who offers this

Orihai is not incorporated. These terms are offered by [LEGAL NAME], [POSTAL ADDRESS]. They are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION].

You can write to hello@orihai.com.

09Changes

The date at the top of this page is the date on which these terms took effect. A change will be announced to the email address on your account before it takes effect. If you continue to use Orihai after that date, you accept the new terms.
